Details:
This US compilation album, titled "In The Name Of Love: Artists United For Africa"
was released on 27 January 2004 by Sparrow Records as a benefit album
featuring Christian artist covering songs by the band U2. This album
is the answer to a call for action made by Bono, lead singer of U2,
to awaken the church to the AIDS crisis in Africa. The album artwork
was designed by Steve Averill of 'Four 5 One Design', who created the
artwork for virtually all of U2's albums. A portion of the proceeds from
the CD will go to help fight the African AIDS crisis.
In March 2003 Delirious? recorded a version of "Pride (In The Name of Love)"
(first released by U2 in 1984) especially for this album.
Other artists featured on the album include: Jars Of Clay, Sixpence None The Richer and Audio Adrenaline.
