Last modified: 22 Jan 2004

Ten-Day World Service UK Tour Kicks Off Delirious? take their latest album 'World Service' on the road for the first time when they start their 'World Service UK Tour' in Cambridge tonight (22nd January). Over the next ten days the band will be touring six British cities as they perform tracks from 'World Service', which was released in the UK on 15th December. Delirious? will be supported by Superhero during the tour.

Having first showcased the new songs at five mini-concerts in London shortly before Christmas, Delirious? are now hitting the road for their first proper UK Tour since May 2002's 'Fire Tour'. After starting in Cambridge, Delirious? will travel to Bristol (23rd), Northampton (24th), Birmingham (29th), Dunfermline (30th), and Liverpool (31st). Tickets for the Birmingham and Dunfermline concerts have already sold out and other dates are selling fast.

The tour ends with a concert at the Liverpool's Anglican Cathedral in front of 3300 fans, as part of the Cathedral's centenary celebrations. The other dates on the tour will be much smaller events, with most of the venues having a capacity of less than 1000 people. Delirious? also have plans for a larger UK Tour later in the year as Martin Smith explains: "We can't wait to play throughout the country in 2004, we are ramping up for a full scale UK tour in the autumn with big venues and big production which should be fantastic".
