Background
American director Brandon Dickerson (Switchfoot, Sixpence None The Richer, Newsboys) took control for the 'Gravity' video. Explaining his concept he said they wanted to "cover Delirious in a complete 360 degree with a split screen and a turning perspective. The song begged for movement and this would keep the video in motion." The majority of the video was filmed at a castle in Kent, England, however this location had its difficulties as Brandon explains: "This was a historical castle, so in order to put up the silver metallic material we had to build a huge frame on the wall so we were not touching any part of the castle." Another problem was how to film the band in 360 degrees, "The entire crew had to be lying flat on the ground or behind a wall". The opening scene features Stu's guitar racing through the streets: "We rigged his guitar to the car and spent a morning driving around filming two frames a second. We also had Stu hold the guitar and then drove in reverse away from the castle. We flipped this footage and grafted it in with the other high-speed footage to create a

The video was commissioned by US record label Sparrow Records to accompany the release of Gravity as a US radio single in May 1999.

Video Commentary
As the song opens with a chorus of 'Round and round and round...' we see Stu's guitar apparently speeding along the streets of Littlehampton. Eventually the guitar comes to a castle and jumps into Stu's arms. We have arrived at the venue for the 'Gravity' video.

Stood outside the castle are Delirious? with their instruments. The camera moves around, changing scenes and showing Delirious? in several different settings inside and outside the castle. When the lyrics briefly pause the whole band spin around in a circle as if on a merry-go-round.

When the chorus begins the screen is split horizontally into two. Martin and Stew appear in one half, while Jon, Stu and Tim appear in the other. They swap over as the camera spins around. The scene is constantly changing with different camera movements, turning upside and round in circles.

Half way through the second verse we see Delirious? set up in a room inside the castle. The floor is reflective and the bright lights flicker. During the chorus we return to spinning shots of the band inside and outside again. During the bridge of the song, Martin is seen crouched in front of the camera, with a pocket watch swinging like a pendulum in the top corner. Behind him we see the rest of the band running backwards from the front of the room through a door at the rear of the room. The video ends with Stu's guitar reversing away from the castle along a country lane.
