Background
'I Could Sing of Your Love Forever' was originally written by Martin Smith in 1994 and was included on the band's early Cutting Edge album. During the summer of 2002 Delirious? went back into the studio to record new versions of some of their early songs for inclusion on a best-of worship album titled 'Deeper'. 'I Could Sing' was one of the songs they rerecorded. The 'Deeper' album was due to be released in the UK in January 2002, and pleased with the outcome of the rerecorded songs Delirious? decided to release the new recording of 'I Could Sing' as a single from the album in December 2001.

Instead, a video was made consisting of a montage of footage shot for a possible documentary about the band. The documentary film crew had followed Delirious? around for the past year, filming them in the studio and on tour around the world.

Video Commentary
The video starts with a glitter ball blending in and out, with the raised hands of a crowd clapping in time to the music. As the drum beat kicks in the scene changes to footage of the band in a studio, recording their latest album. As the song progresses this is interspersed with footage from various different events in the life of Delirious?. These include: back stage at gigs, behind the scenes on a photo shoot, and behind the scenes at the filming of videos for 'Waiting For The Summer' and 'Take Me Away'.

This montage of footage sums up a year in the life of a band. Scenes of Delirious? on the road in the UK, Holland and the USA are shown. As the song reaches its climax we see footage of the band performing at the Milton Keynes gig on the Bon Jovi tour. This is introduced with a sign showing the bands dressing room door (see left), followed by scenes of the band on stage in front of the huge outdoor crowd.

Further footage of Delirious? live on stage at various concerts around the world continue. 'I Could Sing' ends with a flickering strobe light display at one of the many Delirious? concerts that took place that year.
