Background
'See The Star' was the first single from the long awaited second album 'Mezzamorphis'. It was released on 15th March 1999 and it remains the band's biggest hit to date, selling more than 15,000 copies in a week and reaching number 16 in the UK singles chart. The video that accompanied the single, showing the band performing the song together in a room, was shown on several TV shows including Channel 4's 'The Big Breakfast'.

Video Commentary
Video still: The band sat around a breakfast table Video still: Martin singing Video still: Jon and Stew with their instruments Video still: Tim singing along Video still: Delirious? playing in a room Video still: Stu with his guitar The initial scene in the video shows the five members of the band sat around a breakfast table, tucking into toast and orange juice. Next the video switches to black and white as we see close-ups of each of them playing along to the song on their instruments. A wide shot reveals that Delirious? are in a room with stone walls and white panels.

Martin is wearing a black shirt and has an electric guitar. Stu has a grey t-shirt and a pale coloured guitar. Jon wears a dark shirt and his customary bass. Stew has a long sleeved t-shirt with circles printed on the front, and he plays a Premier drum kit. Tim also has a dark shirt and sits behind his keyboard.

After introductory shots of the band, the video keeps changes between Delirious? performing the song and shots of unknown people. A pregnant lady, then a baby. A boy standing in the road with a football and then a vicar. A man and a woman and then three ladies.

In addition to the shots of Delirious? playing their instruments, we also see Martin sat in a high backed chair, wearing a tweed jacket and singing straight to camera. All through the video the black and white footage of Delirious? switches back and forth to coloured shots of ordinary people in their normal surroundings: On the street, in an office, sat at home, and in their places of work. There is even a sneaky shot of a man stood in a theatre with footage of Delirious? coming onto stage at Wembley showing on the screen in the background.

As the song comes to an end, we see a photo of Elvis, apparently dropped on the ground with people walking past. The video finishes as it began, with Delirious? sat around the table. Tim picks up a roll and throws it across the table at Stew. The scene fades to black.
