Background
'Take Me Away' was due to be released in July 2001 as the second single from the 'Audio Lessonover?' album. However, a last minute change of plan saw it released as a free MP3 download instead. The video was recorded on 19th June 2001 and was directed by Andy Hutch, "I built a lightbox set and had the band perform in many different scenarios" he explains. The silhouettes of two dancers were also originally filmed for the video, but these were later edited out. With the decision not to release 'Take Me Away' as a single, the video was added as a CD-Rom extra to the 'Audio Lessonover' album.

Video Commentary
Video still: Martin close up and the band silhouetted in the background Video still: Stew behind the drum kit Video still: Jon moving around with his bass guitar Video still: Tim alongside his piano Video still: Stu's guitar solo Video still: The band stand silhouetted in front of the backdrop As the first few notes start, the silhouetted figured of Martin appears in the foreground. Behind him are four large squares of blue and purple light. The shadows of the remaining band members appear behind each square of light. The camera stays still but the scene changes rapidly as each band member appears in turn, apparently preparing to play their instruments. Stew briefly appears again as his drums signal the start of the song.

With an ever changing white light shining on his face, Martin moves backwards and forwards from the camera as he sings his opening lines. The scene continually changes between its stationary position in front of Martin and its constantly moving view of the band. All the time the band appear either as shadows in front of the coloured light of the backdrop, or close up to the camera. The only colours visible are the blue and purple screens and the black shadows caused by the white light that strobes on and off.

Every member of the band is dressed in dark coloured shirts and trousers. Stew has over-the-head glasses and a chain round his neck as he sits behind a drum kit. Martin wears a black open necked shirt and sings with a microphone in hand. The base of his microphone stand has the words Take Me Away written on the bottom. Jon has a black t-shirt with his black coloured Fender bass guitar slung round his neck. Tim stands alongside an electric piano with a short sleeved dark shirt. Stu has a high neck black zip jacket on and plays a black Gretsch guitar.

Through out the song the scene never stays still for more than a few seconds at a time. The video rapidly moves around from one person to the next. As the song ends, the five members of Delirious? stand silhouetted with their instruments in front of the coloured backdrop as it cycles through a sequence of blues and white. The camera gradually closes in on them and the scene fades to black.
