Delirious? To Tour South Africa For The First Time
Added: 29 Jul 2002

South Africa Delirious? are to make their first ever tour of South Africa later this year. The band will perform 3 dates starting on 11th October in Johannesburg, before moving onto Durban (12th) and Cape Town (13th).

11 Oct - Rhema Church, Johannesburg
12 Oct - Durban Christian Centre, Durban
13 Oct - His People Church, Cape Town

The country of South Africa holds a special place in the hearts of Delirious. In May 2000 Stew, Jon and Stu G raised over £5000 for the Hope HIV Charity by running the London Marathon. They were then invited to attend the official opening of a care facility in Soweto, built with the money they raised.

In February 2001 Stu, Tim and Jon flew out to South Africa to attend the opening and to meet for themselves the children affected by AIDS that the charity aims to help. The emotional trip was captured on film and included on the 'I Could Sing' single and shown during the UK Fire Tour to raise awareness of the work done by Hope HIV.
