Abbey Road Mastering Genius Compliments Delirious? Added: 03 Mar 2003
The man responsible for Mastering the majority of Delirious'
albums over the past five years has paid the band a very public
compliment. Chris Blair is a Post Production Engineer at the
world famous Abbey Road Studios in London, where he has worked
since 1969. He has worked with some of the most respected bands
and artists in the music industry, including the Beatles, Radiohead,
Queen and Pink Floyd.
When asked in an interview for the Abbey Road Studios in-house magazine 'Playback', who his favourite people to work with are, Chris replied: "The Radiohead guys are very nice, the Travis guys are very nice. I've done them from day one and they are friends now. There's a Christian group I do, Delirious. I always enjoy them coming. They do about an album a year. Very high quality." Indeed Blair has been working with the band since early 1998 when he mastered the second live Delirious? album 'd:Tour Live'. He has mastered every Delirious? album since then: The US version of King of Fools (1998), Mezzamorphis (1999), Glo (2000), Audio Lessonover? (2001) and most recently Access:d (2002). In November 2002, as a sign of their appreciation, the band presented Chris with a framed plaque of all the Delirious? albums that he has worked on over the years (pictured: above right).
