Last modified: 28 Oct 2003

Delirious? Cover U2 Song For Benefit Album 'In The Name Of Love' Delirious? will appear on a new benefit album titled "In The Name Of Love: Artists United For Africa" which features Christian artists singing U2 songs. Back in March 2003 Delirious? recorded a track especially for the compilation, a cover of the 1984 U2 hit 'Pride (In The Name of Love)'. The song will be included on the album, along with covers by artists such as Jars of Clay and Sixpence None The Richer.

The album will be released by Sparrow Records in the USA on 27th January 2004 and is the answer to a call for action made by Bono, lead singer of U2, to awaken the church to the AIDS crisis in Africa. In December 2002, Bono met with several Christian artists and industry leaders to ask for their help in bringing awareness to the emergency in Africa. Peter York, Sparrow Records President, says of the album "The goal is to inform the Christian community about the crisis in Africa, Bono has been a powerful voice in raising awareness with this issue and it's important for the Christian community to come alongside and help support this cause".

The cover artwork for the album was designed by Steve Averill of 'Four 5 One Design', who created the artwork for virtually all of U2's albums. A portion of the proceeds from the album will go to help fight the African AIDS crisis. In addition, the enhanced CD will feature written excerpts from the book 'Walk On: The Spiritual Journey of U2'.
