'Paint The Town Red' To Be Released as CD-Single and on iTunes
Last modified: 13 Sep 2005
Delirious? will once again be making an attempt to storm the official UK singles chart when they release 'Paint The Town Red' as both a CD-single (on 10th October) and an iTunes download (on 11th October). Previously it had only been expected that the single would be on iTunes, ruling it out of a chance to be included in the official singles chart which is announced on the BBC's Radio 1 each Sunday.
In addition to being released on iTunes, it has now been confirmed that the single will also have limited availability as a CD-single. Three thousand copies of the CD-single will be on sale, available from HMV and Virgin Megastores from 10th October. Although music downloads have recently started to be included in the UK singles chart, singles must be available on CD as well as via download in order to qualify for the main singles chart.
The tracklisting for the CD-single is:
1. Paint The Town Red [Album Version]
2. Paint The Town Red [Udo Remix]
3. Rain Down [Udo Remix] (German Version)
'Paint The Town Red' is taken from the forthcoming new Delirious? studio album, due for release on 7th November. This will be the first CD-single the band have released to the mainstream market in the UK in nearly four years. In December 2001 Delirious? released a re-recorded version of their classic hit, 'I Could Sing of Your Love Forever', which entered the UK charts at number 40. Between 1997 and 2001 the band released eight singles in the UK, reaching as high as number 16 in 1999 with the 'See The Star' single.
